Classic Roses for Mother's Day

My mother has always loved roses especially pink ones!  I made this card to celebrate her on this Mother's Day.

The base of the card is white card stock cut at 5" x 6 1/2". On this you will affix a piece of pink card stock cut at 4 3/4" x 6 1/4".  You can use pop dots or clear adhesive. I use pop dots for added dimension.

Cut a piece of green card stock at 7 3/4" x 6 inches. (The photo below is actually shown in white) Score on the long side at 4 1/2".  Fold on the score line and crease with bone folder.  To make the flap of the card/envelope I marked at 3" on the flap and drew a line lightly in pencil to 1/8" below the score line. Do this on both sides to give you the point.

Using the V shaped piece in the Ornate Pocket Accents cut out one in the same green card stock color you have used. Snip it in half at the V giving you two trim pieces you will apply to the edge of your card/envelope flap. Don't worry about the little gap at the point.  This will be covered by your spray of roses.

                                    

Now from a piece of white card stock 6" x 4" cut the 5 3/4" x 3 1/2" ornate die cut.  Take this die cut and place the 3" x 3" fan shaped die from the Frame a Card Leafy Borders Die Set, lining up the edges carefully. Cut this out with your machine.  You should have a piece that looks like this.

Glue your ornate die cut to the green card stock centering and lining up the point with the point on the card flap.

Now you are ready to assemble your roses. I cut them out of the Deluxe Flower Shaping Paper using the Classic Rose Die. I then applied some Blushing Bride ink to the centers and a tiny amount to the cut edges of the rose petals using the sponge daubers. I then used the 3D Classic Rose Mold and spritzed the roses with water and put them through the die cutting machine.  Shape your roses and glue together. You can put Ultrafine glitter on the edges if you would like.

Make your leaves using the Leafy Accents Die and Stamp and Mold.  I stamped these leaves on foam paper using Fern Green. Cut them out and ink the edges with Leaf Green. Use the 3D Leafy Accents Mold and run this through your die cutting machine.

Cut out two sprigs of the Wild Aster spray in white.  You can use Wink of Stella on them to make shinier if you would like.

To assemble the beautiful spray of roses I start with a transparent bow in pink and glue that on to the card.  Below that I glued a small pearl "bow".  Then I glued on the baby's breath sprigs from the Wild Aster Spray Die Set, one on the upper left and one on the lower right corner.  Add your leaves and then your roses.

I made some little embellishments from the medium pearl stamens that I dipped in glue and then in micro beads in silver.  These would be pretty in any color of glitter or micro pearls too!  I made several different ones and liked how the silver brightened up the spray and added some more dimension!!!

Stamp or cut out your Mother's Day sentiment from the Thank You Sentiment Stamp Set and die cut using the Ornamental Tags Die.  I edged the tag with a tiny bit of Dries Clear glue and sprinkled on some Ultrafine Glitter. I glued a small gold ribbon to the tag and attached to the spray.
