Mother's Day Tea







This is a sweet little card I made for my Mother's Day Card giveaway at work!  It is super simple and I hope you enjoy!C

I started with a 6"x6" card base.  I cut a patterned paper from the Wild Rose Collection Paper.  I adhered that to my card base.  I found the same pattern and cut off the outer square and pop dotted that to the card.  I cut a square using the Cut Mat Create 2A and cut the center design and pop dotted that onto the card.

I stamped the tea cup and tea bag from the My Cup of Tea Stamp and Die Set, in Stazon Jet Black Ink and colored both images with the Pebbles Ink Chalks. I added some Wink of Stella to the tea bag. These images will be cut out using the coordinating dies and pop dotted to the bottom right corner of the front square.

Stamp the Leafy Accents using Leaf Green and color the centers of the leaves using the Vivid Chartreuse.  Cut the images using the coordinating Leafy Accents Die and put them through the 3D mold.  I like to spray the leaves with the Sheer Shimmer Spritz in Frost and let dry completely.

Stamp out the Small Wild Roses using Stampin Up Crumb Cake Ink pad.   I use three layers per flower and like one big flower, two of the next largest size, 5 of the smallest and then make three buds using two layers of the smallest, along with one layer colored green.  Color these flowers using Stampin Up Blushing Bride and run through your die cutting machine using the Wild Rose Shaping Mold. I like to color the white stamens with the same pink ink and for the larger stamens I like to dip one in Dies Clear Adhesive and cover with Minnie Pearl Mini Prills.  You can also color them after they are dry with coordinating pink ink.

I like to cut out a couple of the Tweet Cherry Blossoms in white and shape using the 3D Cherry Blossoms Shaping Mold.  I use one or two per blossom and use the pearl white stamens in the center.

Assemble the spray on the left side of the card beginning with two sprays of the Leafy Accents.  Follow that with the largest of your Wild Rose centered, or just below center.  Glue your medium size roses and small roses, ending with your buds.  Add the white Tweet Cherry Blossoms and use the Baby's Breath Glitter applied to all the blossoms.

Stamp out the Happy Mother's Day Sentiment from the Thank you Sentiments Stamp Set, in Stazon, Jet Black.  You can cut out the sentiment with a punch or banner of your choosing.

Creating Classic Roses

I have been asked to demonstrate how I make my Classic Roses.   They are really pretty simple.  I start with the Classic Rose Die from Heartfelt Creations, the Deluxe Flower Shaping Paper, the Golf Tools and some Ink. You can get all of these items on the Heartfelt Creations web page.  I like to use hot glue but I have made many of them with the Designer Dries Clear Glue too! I prefer this Deluxe Flower Shaping Paper because it is very heavy and stands up to all the shaping it takes without falling apart.  It also keeps a nice sturdy flower shape indefinitely.   I die cut out four of the same size petal shapes.  (The one pictured here is the next to the largest size.)  I use ink to "shuck" the edges with a sponge dauber and color the inside with a soft makeup brush.   I use the Golf Tool Shaping set from HC exclusively for shaping these roses.  I poke a hole in the center of each of the four flower petal groups, with the Golf Tool. Moonlight Roses

Here is a card I made for a special birthday.  It was really very simple using the Heartfelt Creations Rounded Lattice Window Die and Classic Roses. This was actually my first card for 2020 and one of my first attempts using foam for the roses.  I hope that you will find this card inspiring. Begin by using the 6"x6"Shutter Fold Card in White.  You will need to cut two 6" circles in the paper of your choice using the outer circle die from the Rounded Sunlight Window Die Set.  I used this beautiful blue plaid paper from the Buttons and Blooms Paper Collection. I then cut the two circles in half, giving you four half circle pieces to cover the two front half circles on the card. Find a pattern of the coordinating paper that you like and cut a 6x6" square for the back opening of the card.
