Welcome Baby Boy Circle Step Card



This Circle Step Card is decorated with the wonderful new Tender Moments Collection from Heartfelt Creations.  You will love the soft pastels and the cutest little whimsical animals!

Don't be intimidated by this card. Once you get the hang of it you will realize just how simple it really is.  I made my first one from typing paper until I figured out exactly what I was doing.  I didn't want to waste good card stock!

Cut a 6" circle in white card stock using the large outer circle die from the Rounded Sunlight Window Die. Cut a 6" circle in patterned paper from the Tender Moments Paper Collection using the same die.
Adhere the patterned paper on to the 6" white circle using the Dries Clear Adhesive.

On the front of this 6" circle measure 4" from the left side of the circle and draw a pencil line lightly. This pencil line will be covered with leaves and flowers later. 

Rotate your circle counter clockwise 45 degrees and score at 1 3/4", 2 1/4", 3", 4" and 4 1/2" just to the horizontal 4" score line that you made earlier. (The 3" score line will go all the way across the card to make your card fold in half)






Using your paper trimmer cut make a cut on the 4" score line from the first score at 1 3/4" to the last score at 4 1/2".  Now you can fold your card in half.  Working on your score lines on the right side of your card make a mountain fold, then a valley fold, mountain, then valley, last ending with a mountain fold.  Now the base of your card is finished.  You are ready to stamp and decorate.

At this point I turn the card over to the back side and trim up the edge. This will give you the wonderful circle shape!  It's easier to trim it from the back side of the folded card.




I cut the largest eyelet circle in white card stock from the Eyelet Circle & Basics Small Die Set.  I like to ink the edges with a tiny bit of French Ultramarine Ink and a sponge dauber.  Then out of a piece of the patterned paper from the Tender Moment's Collection that has a sky with yellow stars on it I cut a 4 inch circle. Adhere the sky paper onto the eyelet circle using pop dots.  I attached the circle to the upper left side of your base card.

I fussy cut the picture of the small hot air balloon and pop dot that onto your 4" circle toward the left hand side.

Now for the fun part!  Stamp out the little animals from the Baby's Friends Die Set.  I like to color the animals with Pebbles Inc. Chalk in Pastels.  I use Wink of Stella on their cheeks and ears.  I die cut them using the Baby's Friend Die Set and cut out an extra of each animal in white card stock.  I pop dot this to the back of the animal to give it extra dimension.

Stamp, in Leaf Green, several of the Leafy Accents.  I used Vivid Chartreuse to color the inner part of the leaves.  I color the outer edges with more of the Leaf Green.  Cut with the corresponding Leafy Accents Die and shape them using the Leafy Accents Shaping Mold.

Stamp out approximately 12 of the small Hydrangea blossoms, in French Ultramarine, from the Cottage Garden Hydrangea Cling Stamp Set.  I used the coordinating Cottage Garden Hydrangea Die to cut them out and shaped them using the 3D Hydrangea Shaping Mold. I like to put Heart of Gold Prills in the centers using Designer Dries Clear Adhesive.  Let dry completely.

Stamp out your sentiment. I used the "Welcome" sentiment from the Baby's Hot Air Balloon Cling Stamp Set and "Baby Boy" from the Welcome Baby Cling Stamp Set.  I then used the ticket die from the Ticket and Tags Die Set to cut out and color the edges using French Ultramarine Ink.

Adhere your little animals on the right side of the card on the steps and create a beautiful spray from your leafy accents and hydrangea blossoms.  Using Pop Dots attach your ticket tag.

Creating Classic Roses

I have been asked to demonstrate how I make my Classic Roses.   They are really pretty simple.  I start with the Classic Rose Die from Heartfelt Creations, the Deluxe Flower Shaping Paper, the Golf Tools and some Ink. You can get all of these items on the Heartfelt Creations web page.  I like to use hot glue but I have made many of them with the Designer Dries Clear Glue too! I prefer this Deluxe Flower Shaping Paper because it is very heavy and stands up to all the shaping it takes without falling apart.  It also keeps a nice sturdy flower shape indefinitely.   I die cut out four of the same size petal shapes.  (The one pictured here is the next to the largest size.)  I use ink to "shuck" the edges with a sponge dauber and color the inside with a soft makeup brush.   I use the Golf Tool Shaping set from HC exclusively for shaping these roses.  I poke a hole in the center of each of the four flower petal groups, with the Golf Tool. Moonlight Roses

Here is a card I made for a special birthday.  It was really very simple using the Heartfelt Creations Rounded Lattice Window Die and Classic Roses. This was actually my first card for 2020 and one of my first attempts using foam for the roses.  I hope that you will find this card inspiring. Begin by using the 6"x6"Shutter Fold Card in White.  You will need to cut two 6" circles in the paper of your choice using the outer circle die from the Rounded Sunlight Window Die Set.  I used this beautiful blue plaid paper from the Buttons and Blooms Paper Collection. I then cut the two circles in half, giving you four half circle pieces to cover the two front half circles on the card. Find a pattern of the coordinating paper that you like and cut a 6x6" square for the back opening of the card. Next you will need to cut out four of the Rounded Lattice Window Die from the Lux Gold Cardstock.  Using Designer Dries Clear Adhesive glue the gold die cuts over the bl
